14" Jet Band Saw Fence will not lock in

My wood shop has been out of service for a good many years. I am starting it back up now and went to set up my Jet 14' band saw. Once I got everything set up I went to put the fence on. When I move it around and push down on the handle it will not lock in at the pinch point. I moved washers around for spacing with no change. No matter what I do the fence will not pinch the bar and lock in. Looking at the parts underneath I see nothing missing or wrong. I cannot see where spacing washers would be a factor. Is it possible that they may be a 1/8' thick piece that has fell off. I cant see anything wrong other than it will not pinch...please help

BTW...The fence was working the last time I used it 5 years ago.

I have the Powermatic and the fence is identical to the Jet. When I received it I had to peel and stick two plastic glide pads on the inside of the fence guide. That may be what you are missing.
