Thought I might make a few of these for Christmas gifts. Not bad for a first I guess. This one is dogwood with a mylands finish.

Looks really nice Mike! I haven't turned any shakers yet - how does this one fill? Through the top or does it use one of those rubber plugs?

Nice shaker, I like the wood. I too have not turned any shakers, are they particularly difficult?

Mike, nice looking shaker. Is the top/screen not installed? Where did you get such great looking dogwood? Your yard? Phil

It is installed, you can let the lip lay on the wood or cet a recess for it. I liked it better laying on top. It was just a small dogwood that blew down during the summer behind the shop, barely 4'' diameter.
