Reminds me when I was in highschool and made a sign for my (cheap) bosses sailboat rental business. Not that I didn't know how to spell, as your making it, you just forget.

He asked that I make a price list with a "Public Boat Rental" title at the top. Well, I neglected to put the "l" in "Public". We got some real funny looks from customers that day! :)

I could not spell worth beans in high school, but when I started working on the college newspaper it improved instantly. Now misspellings stand out like sore thumbs to me. Sometimes this forum is pretty funny because of it. I could go on--

Text messaging is the scourge of spelling and grammar. If you thought these areas were deficient before, wait until the workforce is populated by individuals that grew up with this technological shorthand.

I make signs for a living....you would not believe all the signs that get made with typo's...today i found one that was very large and it was pointing people to the food area.....and in giant caps...DINNING Ahead.....and it had been up for years.:p

Mitchell:

The LOML and I were driving down the road one day and she burst into laughter. The pointed out a misspelled sign on the side of a very neatly lettered work van riding down the road next to us. No pic's - sorry.

We did have a local t-shirt company make a batch of t-shirts for our company. We paid a "screen" charge for the initial batch. The next year we ordered a second batch and the phone number was wrong. They said - no way, we used the same screen as last year! We showed them last years shirt and this years shirt with a different phone number. They made us a new batch. All that told me that the screen charge was BS.

Title font calls for caps on the major words and not on the lesser ones
as in: "Decline and Fall of the Roman Empire"

That might have been what they were doing.
