How do I get this router apart to replace the cord? I have taken the 4 screws out of the head of the router but it does not seem to want to come loose. Is there some trick to getting this router apart? I understand that the diagram looks like the armature bearing is part of this issue.

Any help with this would be appreciated.

A lot of the plastic parts are extremely tight, on B&D as well as the rest of the B&D/Dewait lines. I don't have direct experience with this model, but on similar ones a smart rap ot two with a rubber mallet, will jar the parts apart. Not too much mind you... they didn't over build the machine. The top bearing is(should be) held in place with a rubber pellet that looks like a pencil eraser. The bearing will be pressed onto the top of the armature shaft, and wont come off easily. Do not omit the rubber when reassembling or the router will shake rock and roll like an out of time Harley.
Hope it works out.
