Well the first one is definately a buffing pad. :D Not certain about the rest.

I like that new buffing pad idea.

Not sure about pic #2, but #3 and 4 are saw sets I'm pretty sure.
Maybe that means #2 is saw related as well?

Edit: Now that you've edited the cat out of the pics, renumber to the last two being the saw sets. Still not sure about the pair of big tools. For tile work maybe?

Funny! First time posting pics and of course, I mistakenly post a pic of one of my cats. It's corrected now.

Story is, I got a box of tools from my father-in-law. In it, were some planes, drills and these things, which I haven't got a clue what they are or what they do.

Might be panel hold downs whence panels are glued in a press.

The second two are pics of a saw set, for setting the teeth of a hand saw after sharpening. The first two I have no clue, but they look pretty cool. Please do not use them on your cat, looks painful!:D

Those first pictures look like something you would use when making a deck to pull a board straight and parallel to its neighbor before nailing/screwing it down.

The lip behind the handle locks behind the board already screwed to the deck. The "claw" grabs the far side of the crooked board and helps pull it back straight?

The other smaller tools are saw sets.

second the notion on a a tool for straitening a bowed deck board. Never seen one like that but that is what comes to mind looking at them.

The gun looking tool is a saw set. Used to set the teeth on handsaws. Very common tool at flea markets.

The others MAY be a tool used to carry bricks?????

Derek, could you put up some different views of the first two tools?

Re-post it (with the cat) on the neander site. Since it does not appear to have a power cord, I'm sure someone there would know. People post "what is this? pics from time to time. The bottom 2 are definetely saw sets. They may tell you how much they are worth, if anything. They look pretty old. And in nice condition.

J/K about the cat..... I didn't get to see it.

The top two pics look like tools for cutting bricks to me. It looks like a spring loaded brick chisel mounted in a device to hold the bricks in place. It would be a way to quickly and accurately make repeatable cuts. That's my guess anyway.

It looks like the handle ratchets along the rail as it's pumped. So, I'm thinking it splits cedar shakes... similar to the way hydraulic log splitters work. The thickness is set at the left just above the rippled blade into which the shake is pressed.

My guess on the two items in the first picture is maybe a fence stretcher/come-a-long or some type of band clamp clincher?.....

My mind keeps going back to possibly a slate seperating tool, a slaters tool of some sort. FWIW

You could look over at http://55tools.blogspot.com/ to see if there's anything similar, or submit your photos there to see if anyone can ID them...
