powermatic #141 14 inch bandsaw- $475 , passing on this, price too high

jet 1hp 650 dust collector- $179

both are on cl and within a few miles.

I've got that same Jet dust collector; I bought it brand new 8 or 9 years ago for $195 delivered. If I were buying now, I'd opt for a bigger unit, at least 1.5 HP. The 1HP unit is adequate for hooking up to a single machine, but I've not been crazy about how easily it hooks up; I've got a rat's nest of hose and blast gates so that I'm never drawing from more than one hose at at time, and it's still a hassle to use.

I dont think that price is too out of line with what a 141 is worth, albeit I dont know the condition of the saw in question. Remember that its one of the best 14" BS ever made.

Actually, I just looked at the BS in question and I think it looks very clean and complete. I would reconsider passing that up, imo.

I am going to send and ask about it. Thinking the same thing, about saw, now that I have looked some more.
