I'm laid up with the 'dread lurgy' and as a consequence doing some stream of partial conciousness surfing. Anyway I came across this episode of a gem of a TV series from my childhood.

I thought I'd share it here considering the subject matter.

Every time I see something like this I can't help but see John Clease or Michael Palin doing the narration.

And appear from the side doing silly walk or bringing a cage with dead parrot? :D

I am facinated by Mr. Simms method of making dowels.

That technique is the thing I learned today!

Thanks for the links! I could watch these ALL DAY! With winter approaching, these videos will be nice to enjoy on a cold day. I gotta get me a hatchet...

Thanks Caspar, those videos are great. I love stuff like that.

How did you watch them as a kid? What were they broadcast on?

btw, IMDB.com rates the show a 9.7/10. I think that the highest I've ever seen.

I'm glad you guys like the programmes.

I watched them at home at a time when there were only three channels (I remember when there were but two)

Adam, as you may have gathered I'm not a native of these shores, I'm from the West Riding of Yorkshire, hence the White Rose.

I really enjoyed that, thank you. Makes me miss Europe quite a bit, and especially England. Ahh someday....
