Haven't posted much here lately. Here's my first attempt at a loose lidded box. I've made a couple of the suction fit Stafford-esque types, but don't have any pics here. 3.5" h x 3.5" dia, cherry.
Box is sitting on my drafting table in my office, so be gentle with me regarding the picture technique..............
Thanks for looking, critiques welcome.

Richard,Very nice , It appears to have a formal engr/drafsman look about it ( place to hide a rosin bag ) I like the details in and out and it just looks poised and astute with out being snobby. Well done Richard !!!!

Nice job Richard, I really like it.
Here is one I made this very morning. It 's jolting how simular the two projects are. Mine is from Chinaberry, still needs a little work on the lid.

Richard - very nice work! Well thought out and just enough detail work - inside and out - to make it interesting! Being Cherry - this is going to look outstanding in a few years!
Bill - beautiful work also! You should start your own thread so others won't miss seeing your work!

Nice boxes gentlemen... I see a few loose lid boxes in my future... I like the look of the overhanging lid and agree that the amount of detailing is just right to my novice eye

Richard,
A very nice box. I love cherry and it will look great as it ages.
I have not tried a box yet but your detail work really sets it off.
