Hi sign folks.
Probably a stupid question but, does a plotter pick up a hairline as a cut line like the laser does?

It can, yes.

Yes, and like a laser when cutting, a plotter works only with vector files.

Brian,

I drafting plotter or pen plotter will use the assigned pen in the carousel for each line weight. A bit different from vinyl plotters/cutters, drafting plotters are first cousins to vinyl cutters and they both work only with vector graphics as Joe said. We have a new HP large format drafting plotter in our office at CNU that functions much like an inkjet printer.

Most vinyl cutters these days will function as a one pen drafting plotter.
