My husband and I were on our way home from a meeting we attend every Sunday, I always go down the same way home and the road is littered with black wanuts for about 3/4 of a mile, I always dream of seeing one of those trees down and free for the taking. Two black walnuts down and about 22" at the base, logs at six feet long :eek:, man standing in the drive, quick u-turn. The man speaks no english and his wife speaks very little, manage to get get my point across, take all you want. :D I will be right back with my truck, could only get three logs and one little piece, some really heavy stuff here.
The family rents the house, they took my number and will give it to the owner. If the owner gives me the OK I will gladly save him the expense of removal and hire someone with a portable sawmill, this could turn into a mega gloat.
The larger log is 14" across and 4' long.
