View Full Version : Arteriosclerotic plaque showers

Does anyone here know of a good web site devoted to the subject of arteriosclerotic plaque showers? I have done a search and can't find anything on the subject. I tried arteriosclerotic embolism and this produced many sites; however, these are useless to me. What I am looking for specifically is info relating to plaque showers which affect the lower extremities including the bowel, kidneys, etc. To further define my needs, I'm looking for people who have experience these (either themselves, family members, friends) and have found possible ways to deal with this phenomenon. I am particularly interested in finding out if there are people who have survived these for longer than a year. Any help along these lines would be greatly appreciated.

I'm afraid the inquiry is for the wife, Ken. Things are looking very, very grim. This is why I haven't been posting, or even reading the forum. Spending much time at hospital and trying to keep the household on an even keel. Been getting in maybe, if I'm really lucky, an hour or so a week in the shop.

Thanks for the reply, Greg. I was already aware of the info on these two sites. That was one of several afflictions the wife underwent and, miracle of miracles, her kidneys suddenly started functioning normally again. That specific action caused the attending doc to change his prognosis and increase her survival chances by about 50 percent. I hate to say it but the other docs involved aren't so optimistic.

Anyhow, I'm looking for an interactive site where I can communicate with people who are/have undergone this miserable condition and maybe have some insight that the docs just aren't providing. I'm thoroughly unhappy with the info we are receiving from medical experts.

Sorry to hear that, Wolf. That poor lady has been through a lot in the past year, IIRC :( Pass along our best regards, and hope for a rapid recovery. :)

Have you checked out the Mayo Clinic?

That was a good link, Michael, this is the sort of thing I'm looking for. I just took a real quick look at it, I will check it out carefully tomorrow. I may contact this person. I just got the word today that Joyce's kidneys are heading south again and I am at my wit's end. I'm finding myself grasping at straws so this may be just the thing. Thanks again.
