This is a piece of Pecan with some spalting in it. Measures 10'' wide, shellawax finish.

Beautiful bowl Mike! Great color, spalting and also like the dark heartwood! Nice soft rim! Was the Pecan as hard to turn as I've heard? Always heard when dry it cut like concrete!

It definetly hard but sands great.
