Questions about Hotmail account

Hello,

I am an AOL user, but I'd like to also have a Hotmail account. I understand that it's free.

But, how and where do I go to set it up? How do I send mail with it? And where do I go to find out if I have mail in it?

Go to hotmail.com, tis free and I have used it for eleven years, no problems

you can check your email from anywhere that has access to hotmail.com

It is ok and has pretty good spam filters. I think gmail is better, but its a toss up really.

whatever you do, don't get a yahoo email account. Their spam filters don't even exist I don't think. My wife finally gave up constantly submitting stuff to the spam people.

I think gmail has the best spam filter. I still get spam in my hotmail account, but not as bad as yahoo.

I'll second gmail or yahoo, I always hated Hotmail.

You can configure your desktop email application (Outlook, Thunderbird, etc.) to download email from Gmail (not sure about Hotmail). You can also have Gmail retrieve your email from your other email accounts, process it through their excellent spam filters, and then download them from Gmail. Works like a champ.
