Can anyone recommend a good bearing for a rotary adapter for a vacuum chuck? I bought two of these http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=220414488439&ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT off of Ebay, but they seem to leak pretty bad. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks,

Matt

Have you tried sealing the back side of the bearing with grease or "O" ring? Are you sure it is the bearing leaking, I had a little trouble with home made chucks, they were not sealed real good.

When i made my adapter I used 2 bearings. I feel sealed bearings are designed to hold grease in and dust out. Not designed to hold air or suction. With one bearing my rig pulled about 18, two bearings it pulls 26.

I had bought a bunch of bearings for my vintage Delta bandsaws and they are double sealed to keep out the dust and they work perfectly. I had gotten a larger one from the big box and even though it was a sealed bearing it leaked like xxxx.
