I'm looking for a method to put a picture in a mirror. What is envisioned is a process where some of the silvering (generic term) is removed and a translucent image is place on the backside of the glass.
Anybody have any ideas?
Thanks.

Sure thing, laser engraving. It's done all the time. Head over to the laser section of the forum and ask around or search for "mirror" in that section. You'll see all sorts of stuff.

I've used an air pwered rotary tool to remove the siver backing on a mirror. Worked pretty good. It was actually a scroll saw pattern of a German Shepherd head. Taped it to the back of the mirroe and cut through the paper. WHen finished, I put a piece of black paper behind it and in a frame. Donated it to the NJ German Shepherd rescue group for them to sell.
