My Keller 1601 will be arriving today and I'm pretty excited to start trying it out. I have found a couple of good bits of info on it online, but not much else. Are there any 1601 users out there who might have some advice about getting started? I have read that the manual is pretty confusing....

Nope, the Keller manual is real simple. That's the big strength of the Keller jig. It is about as complicated as a rock.

Zach , you are going to love this jig, I have had mine for 2 years now , I bought it when I was just starting to get into woodworking and made my first cabinet drawers with this jig and it was very simple to use and accurate, and most of all it was fun.
