Does anyone know any good sources for fieldstone in SE PA? I may purchase a pallet from local places such as A-1 Mulch or Main Line Gardens. However I am wondering if there are better sources, such as local quarries, in regards to price, quality or flexibility on size of stones or quantity purchased. This summer I visited my cousin in upstate NY and she and her husband were buying stones from a local quarry for about $5-$10 a ton.

I don't know how the pricing compares, but Stone Depot in Perkasie does a pretty good business in fieldstone as well as other products of that ilk.

You don't find fieldstone at a quarry, you find them next to a farmer's field. The frost heaves them and the farmer constantly picks them out of the field and piles them up. Go for a ride in the country and chances are you will find some rather cheap.
