Most strat pick-guards have a 45 bevel on the edge. Unless you are making one thinner.

This is for my son and he said it would be fine if he just rounded the edge a bit with sandpaper.

I have one but not on this computer.
I made one out of the brushed stainless looking rowmark. Take your outside cut line and duplicate it at X0 and Y0, make it a 4 pt line and engrave. It will give you a look very close to a beveled edge.

Well, I guess I had a back up on this one.
Looks like it's not perfect but it came out OK.

Brian......where did you get the pattern for that? Did you scan an existing one or is there someplace you can find patterns for more of the popular guitars?

Josh took it home to see how it will fit. If it fits well I will post the cdr. What we made was a dead ringer for the one he bought at Muscian's Friend as far as hole placement, cut-outs, etc. but until he actuall tries to fit it to the ax you don't know for sure.

I scanned mine and drew the pick guard.
Bob, is yours a Carvin? Sorry about the spelling.
SOME DAY I'll have a Les Paul Custom (I hope)

Nope, the one you saw is a Vigier. Graphite through the neck, no truss rod. Expensive, but plays incredible, has a floating trem that never goes out of tune due to the ballbearing pivot (as opposed to knife edge).

I've done these in the past.. The top one was just brushed silver romark..
The white one was white romark
