Can anyone identify this table saw? If so is it a good deal?

Looks like a Grizzly, though I'm not sure what model or its worth.

That is the Grizzly 1023 Right tilt with long rails.

It sells for $1075 with regular rails, and it looks like long rails are $100 extra. The $1,500 may be true if he included shipping, a blade, and sales tax and maybe rounding up to the nearest $500.

If I were the seller, I would love to sell mine for $900 and buy the new one with riving knife for $1,350.

It is a solid saw, but I would think 1/2 of regular price not including shipping and tax would be a fairer price. $600 or less.

Yeah its a Grizzly per the title, but cant identify the model. He claims he paid 1500, and it has the dust collection with it.

Looks Grizzly to me too. As for a good deal-need more info. The fact that the d/c is included would prompt me to investigate further, if I were interested.

Dumb question I guess but how do you tell right vs left tilt? Most people prefer left correct?

Looks to me like a G1023S with extended fence rails.

http://www.grizzly.com/products/g1023s

and a G8027 DC

http://www.grizzly.com/products/1-HP-Dust-Collector/G8027

He's pretty close, would cost you about $1400 new for the both of them. It's a damn good TS (I have the older G1023) that will last you a lifetime I'm sure if it's not been abused or has issues. The DC is ok, not anything special but would suffice to move from machine to machine.

If your only looking for a TS really I'd say look a little longer, they pop up in the $500-$600 range pretty often from what I've seen.

All in all though it's not a bad deal, just not a great one either.

My .02 cents.

Thanks! Well I do not have a dust collection system either. I am starting from scratch and actually have not a single power tool at the moment. I have been told it is a right tilt. How can you distinguish this?

It's a right tilt. You can tell by where the blade angle handle is. If it's on the left side of the saw it's a right tilt, if the handle is on the right side of the saw it's a left tilt.

Left vs Right is a preference thing. You can find debates and info all over the place on it.

Here's the link to the left tilt for comparison.

Thanks again, since I do not have dust collection either I may go take a look and see if he is willing to move on it.

No problem. Glad to be able to spread the knowledge. Everyone was where you are now at some point. It wasn't too long ago for me either. :)

There are some real nice woodworking tools out there that need a home, we should save them all. :D

That’s not always the case, yes this saw is a right tilt but my SawStop ICS has the has the blade angle handle on the left side of the saw and its a left tilt.

I found this one on the Nashville CL:
http://nashville.craigslist.org/tls/1381230909.html

It's a classic Unisaw with a mobile base and extended rails for $800- if it's still available. I suspect someone has already grabbed it. It's a much better deal than the Grizzly (and I have one of each).

When I finish my Unisaw restoration I'll be selling my seven year Griz 1023 and I'll be thrilled if I can get $600 for it, and it's a very good saw.

Which side the angle adjustment wheel is on isn't necessarily indicative of the tilt direction. There are examples of left tilt and right tilt with the angle wheels on either side, but the slot and travel direction of the front elevation wheel are indicative everytime. If the elevation wheel travels from right to left as it tilts, then it's right tilt, and vice versa for left tilt.

Left tilt has been the trend in recent years, but there are plenty of fans in each camp. Just a matter of preference and what you're used to.

That's a G1023S with extended rails. Nice saw, but I don't think the two machines are worth more than $800.

Hi, I don't kmow how far from Greenville SC you are but I picked up some nice equipment here yesterday http://greenville.craigslist.org/tls/1402590334.html

He had tons!! of stuff. I know a saw a Unisaw and a PM table saw, plus jointer, edge sander, shaper, planer. Whats on this list is maybe 1/4 of waht he has.

Good luck

You can tell by which way the bevel gauge is "smiling."

Sorry, should have been more specific. ON THE GRIZZLY SAW being asked about and other Grizzly models you can tell if it's left or right tilt by the side the angle adjustment handle is on.

Not a good picture, but it looks like the motor is on the right side. If so, it's a right tilt. Considering the included dust collector $900 is (in my opinion) just a 'OK' price.

So is it right or left tilt? The wheel is on the left making me think right, but then some people have said other factors decide as well.

For sure a right tilt. Can even see the motor sticking out the right side. It swings down and to the left as you tilt the blade. Also no motor cover which will cost you a bit more if you want good dust collection. Saw a bigger Shopfox dust collector on local CL for $100 a few days ago that puts the value of that small Griz somewhere below that.

Thanks that helps a ton. Ive been on the market for a table saw for about 1 month. I have thought abbout the Ridgid R4511, a few craigslist options, a Steel City 35920, and a Grizzly G0661. I think I may go with the Grizzly, but am going to give craigslist another week or 2.
