I am making a router table top out of MDF and plastic laminate. I need to cut a couple of slots with my router to take some T- nut aluminum channels for the fence. Since these slots will go only part way intothe table, I will need to suare off the ends of the routered slots. Since it is plastic laminate on the top, what is the best way to sqaure of the ends of the slot? Will a wood chisel cut through plastic w/o chipping? Thanks.

The best thing is to live with the radius in the corners. Over cut the slots a little so you get all the travel you want. Squared out corners are not good in laminate work. Sometimes it can "run" like glass. If the radius bothers you a lot, clean up the corners with the smallest bit you have to minimize it. Good luck.

If it must look clean, squre the corners with a small router bit. Then radius your channel to match. Inside corners in laminate should always have a radius.
