Halloween & Pirate Stuff to make

With halloween coming up, I have been asked to make some pirate stuff to round out a costume. I was thinking of flintlock pistols, swords and daggers (dull of course). Any thoughts on patterns, plans, drawings or any experiences you might want to share in making this costume stand out with accessories?

Make a POP gun, then after that is successful, adapt that into a pistol.

Also, I would make a scimitar, and simple holster attached to the belt like the one carpenters have that holds hammers.

Finally, if you're a pirate, you put your money/loot in a fabric satchel attached to your belt.

Sounds like some fun stuff... Disney has good wooden toy ideas from their pirates of the carribean franchise. I think they only sell them in the park though since I couldn't find pictures online.
