There is an open chute like many older designs (like my G0490X which is like a Delta DJ-20 which is like a . . . ). I would imagine it could be closed off and adapted to a port with some effort.

I don't know about that one Bob but... I sold an excellent 6" several years ago for $250. If you are not in need "today" I would hold out and watch Craigslist where I see 6" for sale from $200-$400 often in the Atlanta area. Most are the closed cabinets which are heavier (vibration aid) with dust chute and often longer beds which to me is important and one of the main reasons I upgraded to 8".

Good luck...

At first glance it seems to be a clone of the Delta JT360(or perhaps the Delta is the clone. Many of the imports are manufactured in the same factory with different paint and labels. I've repaired many machines with parts from "different" manufactures.
The motor is hung(on the Delta) from the bottom of the dust chute. A simple box could be built, but belt adjustment could then become a problem.

Not sure about this Bob. I am with Bob on this one and I think that you should hit craigslist and wait for something with an enclosed cabinet. I think that you will be happier with your self if you wait. I have the G0490X and love it. I just wish that it had longer tables. I will probably upgrade to the 8" in time, or maybe even a 10". We will see. Good luck.
