Anyone have experience with using a bushing in a saw blade to fit an undersize abor? I've heard that use of a bushing will affect the accuracy of the cut. True?

Depends on the accuracy of the bushing.

Could be true.

Does your collar or clamp fit over the bushing?

Is your clamp (collar) smooth, clean and true?

If your clamp over the bushing you should be fine.

DeWalt uses a 5/8" arbor in their 12" miter saws. 12" blades generally have a 1" bore, so they send you a 5/8 X 1" bushing. My Delta 12" RAS has a 5/8 arbor, so I use the same bushings on my 12" blades.

I use a 1" bushing to make my 1" WWIIs (should have ordered them with a 5/8 hole) fit my 5/8 MM slider. Works fine.

I use a Frued reducer bushing on a 12" blade to fit my 5/8" arbor on my 10" TS to get a 4" depth of cut. I only do it occasionally when 16/4 comes into the shop rough but... no problem. But I will add that I am ripping with a 20 T rip blade and will rip over-size to take to the jointer so.. I cannot say if it loses any acccuracy in a ultra fine cut as an angled taper?

Just try it and see as a reducer bushing cost under $10 would be my approach..
