I have a client that wants her daughters name vector cut with a small base. I am having a problem getting it to come out without the vector lines on the bottom of the letters because they will have a rectangle at the bottom to make it look right. Her name is ZAYLEE MARIA. I know I am doing something wrong and it should be fairly simple but I think my mind is stuck on stupid for this one.

Can you show us the drawing and tell us exactly what you want.

A quick guess is that welding the text and the base together might do what you want.

Mike that is exactly what I am trying to do. How did you do that?

Cindy

Select the text and move it down to the base so that it overlaps as much as you want then select both the text and the base and weld them together.

I assume you have made outlines with no fill for both.

There is also a Font that does this. I'll take a look when I get home tonight. However Mike's Tech Tip is probably faster.
