My Delta 17-965 drill press seems to have little play in the quill. I've checked the manual(if that's what you call it) and looked on the deltamachinery.com website for info but can't find any.

Does anyone know if this machine has any adjustment to tighten the quill.

Thanks,
Jim

You need a split head design to adjust for quill slop.

"Split Head Casting Design: Unlike it's competition, the model 20525 gives you the ability to compensate for wear and insure accuracy of the quill assembly over the life of the machine."

Eddie,

You are right.

I got a call from Delta yesterday and they said there was no quill adjustment on this model.

I didn't like the answer but it sure was nice of them to answer my e-mail with a personal phone call.
