I am about to make a flip top rolling cart for my disc sander. I was wondering if anybody has made any neat improvments to them that I should know about.

I made one last week for my Steel City thickness planer. The only thing left to do is do some edge banding on the plywood and apply a finish.

I'll try to post some photos later.

A few details (I made most of this up as I went along)

Used 3/4" birch ply for the panels
Doubled up the 3/4 ply for the top, so it's 1.5" thick
Used 5/8" x 4.5" lag bolts as pivots. Added nylon bushings into the side panels, so the bolts don't rub against the wood inside and washers to keep bolt heads off the surface
Used Forstner bits to recess hardware (helped set the casters into the base )
1/4 x 20 eye-bolts provide swinging locks to secure the corners
It was an interesting project. I got to use lots of tools... good practice for this relative novice woodworker. I used a Festool track saw to cut the panels, a router in a table to create dados, handheld router to cut eyebolt slots, drill press for all the boring, pin nailer to help with the gluing assembly.
