Just got an old 14-inch delta band saw that has the Delta Milwaukee badge with the triangle on it. Has the open leg stand, belt guard and delta light. Is painted a dark blue, not the usual blue gray. It's at Dad's right now, so don't have the serial number, but was wondering if any experts here could give me some approximate time frames for date of manufacture....has the hex post, external switch, the badge I already mentioned, and the dark blue color...any ideas as to approximate dates of manufacture?

You should be able to find it here:

My Delta Mil DP was bought by grandpa in the 1940's. I don't know how long the badge ran but OWWM is a great resource.

Are you sure it wasn't repainted?

Even the base is a matching color and I could find no evidence of it being done by hand....looks factory......

Congratulations!! That one's a keeper.

Dark blue was never factory. Delta did use a bluish gray in the Delta Milwaukee era, but it's still gray.

As others have suggested get onto www.owm.org.

Oh, just to gloat a wee bit, I had to pay $50 for it.......

Wait till you see some of the paint jobs at owwm.org. Some of them are substantially better than factory. :D
