Finally got the ChopMaster on the CMS tonight after a fun-filled day of non-stop conference calls. In one word...Wow! Talk about a slick cut. I still don't like the saw and will likely replace it someday, but this blade made it into a whole new machine!

As requested, the obligatory picture...guard "removed for photographic clarity". Cut is wonderful. The small amount of fuzz on the bottom of this very dry, very old poplar will likely go way as soon as I replece the zero-clearance insert in the saw. This Forrest blade body is noticably thicker, heavier and more stable than older Freud blade which should do away with any flutter on the cut like I was experiencing all the time. (That's what ruined the Z-C-I)

Jim, I said the same thing when I replaced my 80-tooth Dewalt blade with a Chopmaster. What a great blade!

Jim,

Do you have the 10" or 12" Chopmaster? What CMS do you have it on? I've been thinking about a different blade for my DW708, and Christmas is coming.

Rob:

While you are waiting for Jim's reply, I have a Dewalt 705S and my reaction when I put a Chopmaster on was similar to Jim's. My only concern now - I need to send it out to Forrest for sharpening and I don't have two Chopmasters in the shop. :(

Good for you, Jim! The last time I was as impressed with improved cut quality was when I switched from my old blade on the TS to the WWII! :) Hmmmmm...Do I detect a pattern here?!

Wow is right, What does the blade cost?

3D Sawblade Sales had it for $119.

12". The CMS is an older 12" Delta. One of these days it will be replaced with something "different"...

Jim,

If you make a very thin slice in oak and hold it up to the light...you can see through it!

Looks like it's well worth a few extra bucks. Impressive cut.
