I have a model 34-814, if that matters, and the arbor is bent. I got a new one and bearings from Delta and took the arbor bracket off the saw. I got the 2 nuts off the end of the shaft and the pulley loose on the shaft. When I try to push the shaft out of the bracket, it doesn't want to go. The bearings will move on the shaft, but the spacers between the bearings and the pulley don't seem to move. It appears to be some sort of press fit and I'm wondering if I need special tools to get it off and (more importantly) back on again. Do I need to take this to a professional?

Any help would be appreciated, I am having saw withdrawal!

Let us know how it works out.

After investigation my only real choice is www.sawcenter.com. All the web sites indicate that the arbor should come out of the yoke fairly easily, but mine won't. I took it to the local B&D repair center and they didn't know much. I called Saw Center and the first guy I talked to knew EVERYTHING. He asked lots of questions...that I should have known the answers to but didn't. I sent the yoke and new parts to them for about $60/round trip shipping from Texas and $90 repair charge (unless they find something else). NEXT TIME, I'll call them first before doing anything.

Thanks for all the suggestions, especially the one about sawcenter.com.
