Honing Belt 4 x 36

I'm considering purchase of a 4 x 36" table top belt sander for sharpening and honing.

Anyone know of sources for a leather honing belt 4 x 36"? :confused:

Any suggestions on making a 4 x 36" belt? :confused:


Any specific leather better than others? :confused:
How to splice the ends? :confused:

Ebay item number 230378954387 might be the way to go this uses a bench grinder.
Tandy leather can sell you the leather and glue to make a belt but it will strech and have to be recut and glued a few times. If the belt sander has the sanding disk you can glue a leather disk on it for sharpening.
