OK....Clardy brought up the idea.....so I'm only asking for the sake of intrest here!!!!!

We have to see how many folks would be interested in purchasing an SMC Coffee Mug.

Remember, you are NOT placing an order for a coffee mug at this time!!!

So....I'm putting me in for:

2 to 4 coffee mugs...

Whose next?

John Miliunas

I could use a couple. What I'd *really* like to see is the "spill-proof" kind. They're usually insulated and with an hour commute to the J.O.B. every morning, would be neat! :)

Jim Becker

I would likely purchase, quantity depends on the style. I don't have much use for "travel" mugs...my commute is "back stairs or front"... but do have a few real oldies that could use replacing that I use on the tractor!

If perchance, someone offered SMC wine glasses, I'd probably take a set of 4 or 8. :D Beer mugs might not be quite as good, but they have their uses too.;)

In all seriousness though, I would buy at least 2 coffee cups lidded or unlidded.

Frank Pellow

I would purchase at leat 2 SMC coffee mugs. I prefer ceramic around 12 ounces with the absence of gizmos such as flip top lids.

I'm interested if it's a MAN SIZE (grunt, grunt) cup, not one of those little sissy 1-1/2 mouthful things !!

Tim Sproul

Interested.

Jim, What kind of cup holder did you put on your tractor? I have been looking for one for my JD.

My Kubota has a cup holder as standard equipment...:D

Well, as I already stated, I don't drink coffee but I'd buy two just to try and get a grip on lost pencils within my garage! Maybe they'll like staying in an SMC coffee cup instead of getting up and leaving the garage?

Tyler Howell

I'm in for 2. Ceramic Please.;)

Ken Fitzgerald
09-16-2004, 1:49 PM
I'd take 2-4 ceramic please!

Dick Parr
09-16-2004, 1:53 PM
I would get at least 1.

Dennis Peacock
09-16-2004, 2:12 PM
I have checked a couple of places and most require a minimum order of 144. I'm sure we can get enough interested in them to get a minimum order. Right?

Dave Right
09-16-2004, 2:33 PM
I'll take 2-4 ceramic, of course.

Waymon Campbell
09-16-2004, 2:38 PM
I'd go for a couple "MAN SIZED" ones to quote Tony.

Michael Stafford
09-16-2004, 4:08 PM
I prefer bone china or porcelain. I'm rather petite so demitasse cups are better for me. I would love a couple for home and the office.

Earl Reid
09-16-2004, 4:33 PM
I woul take 1or2 to go with the other 100 or so that I have

Ken Salisbury

I would definitely take 2 coffee mugs

and 14 Beer Mugs :D :D

Dennis, if they were man sized porcelian cups, say 12-14 ounces, I would buy a couple.

I call those latté cups and that would also be my choice, too, if available! Gotta be able to fit my double-L in them!

This is my favorite cup/mug...I'd love to aquire more of this design with the SMC logo!

I'll check into the styles and also check with Jackie to see what our options are.

Hold on a sec here, guys. Let's get this "man-sized" definition straightened out. I have a couple coffee mugs that I use (2 ceramic, 1 "sailor"-style spill-proof), and all of them are TWENTY OUNCES. Must be why I only drink ONE "cup" of coffee a day. So for me to be interested, they would have to fall into that category. (Bigger yet wouldn't hurt). :D

Of course, you'll have to take my interest on this with a grain of salt, seeing as how I haven't gotten around to ordering that hat, yet.

Dar Lounsbury

Seems to be the 'SMC way'. Bigger is better. I'm in for one, maybe two.

Ken Garlock

Sign me up for one (1) 12 or 14 oz ceramic cup. NO bigger please. I have a Starbucks London cup that must hold at least a pint, and the coffee gets cold too quickly due to the large diameter of the cup and hence the large cooling surface of the coffee. No "Latte" cups, what ever they are, this isn't a ladies sewing circle. :D

Brian Hale
09-16-2004, 8:25 PM
I'm in for a couple as long as the handle is large enough to slide 4 thick fingers into.

I HATE those 2 finger girlie-man "coffee mugs".... (of course they're good for mixing small amounts of shellac  )

Brian :D

Thanks.

FWIW, I'm not sure exactly what they used on them, but I have a couple SS car mugs, which I got from a former employer. I have been knocking one of them around for close to six years now and their logo and contact information is still about 95% intact! :) I imagine it was some type of silkscreening process, but I'm really impressed with how well it's held up!

I have a couple of Badger Pond cups that I can hardly read anymore. They did say not to run them through the dishwasher - yeah, like that's going to happen!
I had a large cup given to me by a big machine shop in L.A. that I used daily for ~15 years, ('till I broke it  ) and their logo still looked brand new.

OK...looks like we have some pretty good interest here in good quality coffee mugs. Let's let Jackie see what is around and affordable enough for us all.

I'd also like a couple. I'll take what ever you come up with.

I didn't buy a hat because I didn't want to lose my hair. Haven't you noticed that bald guys always wear hats? I figure that can't just be a coincidence.

Hahahahahahahhaa ;)

Nice try on the hair loss/hat thing...get a couple o' hats...they are actually very nicely made although I think the time to order has run out....

I didn't want you all to think I had forgotten about the coffee mugs. We are working on it now. I am trying to find a way to do this so we don't have to order a minimum and so they will be available whenever anyone wants to purchase one. Please bear with me.

Being on a submarine we drink coffee all the time - probably much more than anyone should. Just in our quarters (about 20 guys) we go through about 10 pounds of coffee per week!!! So yes, I'd like a mug but it doesn't have to be man-sized, it has to be Sailor sized!!! :p

We have the SS mugs "travel mugs" with our boats logo silk-screened on it. The one I have is about 3 years old and has seen it's share of abuse and is still perfect.

Be well,

Doc

They offer a multitude of products that are produced on an "as ordered basis". One of my Civil War re-enacting boards uses this site to offer a lot of choices to members. Good luck.

They offer a multitude of products that are produced on an "as ordered basis". I was going to suggest this, but Maruice beat me to it. While the profit per item may end up slightly less, "they" deal with all the ordering, etc. For long term, as-ordered availability with no inventory, this isn't a horrible idea. Just a review/refresh of the product set once in awhile should be the major part of the work after things are set up.

True, but it would just be providing more profit to the Wal-Mart empire...

Just quickly going through those two sites listed above.
Sam's price, minimum order of 48 with custom logo, ceramic mug, $2.76 each.
Cafepress, no minimum, custom logo, ceramic mug, $10.99 each.

I believe if I were ordering for my company, Sam's would get the nod.

Just as an aside, we have had a SawmillCreek page at CafePress since about January.
www.cafepress.com/sawmillcreek (http://www.cafepress.com/sawmillcreek)

This includes a stainless steel travel mug, a stein, and a standard ceramic mug.

I wasn't particularly impressed with the Hat quality from CafePress after we ordered some (which is why we switched to a local supplier, with *much* nicer hats).

Maybe the coffee mugs they supply are nicer than their hats. Either way, CafePress will remain open, but we're still looking into some really nice cups and mugs for the discriminating eye, like myself. :)

On the other hand, they will probably be a little more expensive, but ... as with most housewares you get what you pay for.

I would be interested in a couple of mugs - prefer ceremic mug, man sized handle and man sized cup.
