I am happy to report that after nearly 2 years, my Rabbit laser is still working well.
In the first year, I had one electrical problem that I noted in my 1-year review
You can read that review here http://www.sawmillcreek.org/showthread.php?p=942326#poststop (http://www.sawmillcreek.org/showthread.php?p=942326%23poststop)
I have only one mechanical issue cropping up; the “y” axis has stuck 3 times over the last year ruining 3 projects.
I cleaned and adjusted the belts and have not had that problem since.
I have used the laser weekly and am very satisfied with its performance.
The machine still has no air assist; and so I cannot recommend it to anyone that asks for my my advice on purchasing this machine. For me air assist is a must have; without air assist you are severely limited with what you can do with the machine. I truly wish someone had told me this before I purchased my machine.
Although not having air assist allowed me to focus on engraving photos exclusively, which n turn has made me good at them. I now have an active business engraving photos. A door closed and a window opened.
I am seriously looking at purchasing another laser before Christmas. My experience with my Rabbit laser has given me much needed experience and confidence; all at an affordable cost.
It is a great entry-level machine.
Best Regards
Jim J.
