Does any one know how to remove the collet chuck off the armature of a PC 537 Router?

I assume you need to replace a bearing? On my PC 690's, I use a socket and an impact wrench. You may have to try a couple of times for it to work. You don't need to hold armature, just "hit it" with the impact gun a couple of times.

Can't use a impact wrench it has a round part above the hex part so you can't fit a socket over it. (it has a threaded collet not the nut type)

Try a "Crow Foot" on your impact...you'll ruin the crow foot but you will get the collet off.

I bored blocks of hardwood same size as the armature of different P-C router motors, then sliced them through the center. I sandwich the armature in a vise, protected by the wood. Then whack the chuck off with a wrench and ball peen hammer. More wood protects the wrench. It Works!
