I just completed building a saw till for my slowly growing vinatge saw collection. It is the first project of any size that I have built entirely with handtools. I also made my first hand cut dovetails in constructing the drawer.

I enjoyed this project more than anything I have made in quite a while. It was educational in both working to develop better handtool skills, and in realizing what hand tools I need to get in order to make the work more efficient (router plane and shoulder plane). Most of the tools I used for this project were vintage. This could be quite addictive!:D

It's really quite satisfying and rewarding isn't it!:D I'm convinced that it has made me a better woodworker all around. I now pay much more attention to the grain of the wood and its orietation, regardless of whether I'm using hand tools or tailed ones. And not having to rip that beautiful 10" board down the middle to joint one side...priceless;):D
