This vessel was inspired by Wally Dickerman's "Giraffe" turning on the cover of Woodturner's Catalog a couple months ago. I PM'd Wally and he gave me his blessing to use the design.
Mine is the inverse of Wally's as I burned the lines vs the spots. It was a lot of tedious work for me and I doubt I'll be making a production run of these. :D
It's 5 1/2" x 11'. The finial is ebonized with black, liquid shoe polish. Finish is three coats of Deft gloss spray lacquer.
Thanks for looking and thanks Wally for the inspiration.

Hey Cody, great idea to reverse the design. Umm, you got away with less burning too didn't you. Well done.

Pretty cool Cody. Is it ok if I copy, err, get inspired by it one of these days? Wally is a pretty good source of inspiration and very generous about it.

Richard, since I got the design from Wally, he's the one to ask. I have absolutely no objections to anyone copying anything I make.

I think you did a fantastic job incorporating Wally's vessel design and Keith's finial!
Very fine piece.

Thanks everyone for all the kind comments. I don't post here often but I read SMC every day and there are some great folks here, some fine woodworkers and turners.
It's a privilege to get to learn so much from such a talented group. Thanks again.
