I just jumped in and didn't introduce myself. I'm Keith Christopher, I hail from Baltimore, Md. I've been doing woodworking since I was a kid. My grandfather was a carpenter/cabinetmaker for ~50 yrs. I used to spend (at the time) long boring days in the summer helping him in his shop and on job sites. Well now I can see all those days of planing and scraping and measuring and handsawing made all the difference now in my work. I have been looking for a good forum for a while now (all started with me looking for a good veneering forum) and landed here. Seems a good place and lots of knowledgable folks.

Keith,
We treat MOST folks really well on this board. Hey Keith, stick around and you will see why we treat Tyler like we do! :) On the other hand, I don't get treated very well either! I can't believe it because I am NOT a Viking fan!!

Hi Keith,

We like pictures in case you didn't figure that one out. Basic rules are, if you wanna gloat about something, you better post a pic to back it up! :D So welcome, and post pics. We gotta fill up the servers here on SMC (hosted by Hampton Roads). :D

My grampa was also a carpenter/cabinetmaker. I learned some woodworking basics at his side and built some country tables and benches we still use. The first thing I had to learn was how to sharpen a plane blade.

Welcome to SMC!

Hi, Keith and welcome to the Creek. I lived in Glen Burnie for a couple of years and used to buy lumber down by the Inner Harbor.
