Seriously, I would be interested in seeing how everyone finishes off the bottom of their bowls, HF, vases ect.

I usually taper mine in slightly and make them smooth but I have been experimenting with a little ring type foot just to dress it up.

Post the pictures of your upside down work and let the rest get inspired!

The maple bottom segment was originally supposed to be a waste block, but I liked the way it turned out, so I kept it. (Sorry for the poor lighting)

sorry no pictures but I have been told that small bottoms are not as steady in the long run as big bottoms. and for the steadist bottom carve 3 feet on it. I have been told that after years (don't know how many) that most bowls will no longer sit flat on their bottom therfore carve 3 feet and you will always be steady.

Scott it just depends on the piece, but I do have an album just to show how some of my bowls bottoms are finished, just have a look, and here's one picture to show it isn't always easy or the same ;)
