The internet is pretty cool. I figured out how to do a brushed stainless look and a brushed gold look for backgrounds. I was afraid I'd need to take a picture of stainless and import it with the backgrounds. Here's how to do it.
Draw a box, fountain fill with about 50% black and 30% black. Change to a bitmap. Add noise (as much as you can) and blur. Works pretty good. Play with the settings to get the desired look.
