Last September, Hurricane Ike came through NE Ohio with 80 mph winds. My neighbor lost two maple trees that were over 20" diameter. However, they were about 1000 feet behind our houses and across a wet weather creek and a ravine that is 30 feet deep on the short end. This weekend it was finally dry enough to cut a ramp up the other side of the creek and get back there. One of the trees camed down on the other one and split it. The two halves of the second tree were displaced about 10 feet. Some of the wood was not usable.

Here are the pictures of the wood after I cut it into length, hauled it most of the way out of the woods, stacked it, and put Anchor-Seal on the ends. This is two different piles of wood. More than I am likely to use for a long time.

That ought to keep you out of trouble for a while. Sounds like you probably got a pretty good workout harvesting that.
