I got a good deal on a used unisaw ( free ) it had a 3 phase motor on it. I put a 5 horse motor on it a cleaned it up and painted it and the top was ground by quality grinding ( those guys do a very good job) it looks better than a new one.... I forgot to take pictures of the build but here is the finished (almost) product

Beautiful job David.

I have been looking for a old uni or PM 66 to do a restore job on just for fun. So far I haven't had any luck. I won't keep it but it would be fun doing, like the old Harley sportster I am doing right now.

Thats downright purdy!

The saw itself is a major major gloat for the price but I'm curious what the top cost to have it machined?

Nice saw. Do you have problems with the miter slots now that the top is ground?

Matt, quality ground the top and cut T slots ( old saws dont have them ) for $200.....when cutting the T slots it made the groves are the same depth

That's a beautiful machine and major gloat, to boot! Congrats on both the great price and a fine restoration.

I always enjoy seeing a quality old machine brought back to LIFE again!

What's the body paint? Baldor Metallic Gray? The trim looks to be '68 Corvette Stingray Blue!

good eye Chip, you're right on target with the blue, the grey is just off the shelf
