Rained all day today - so when is a better time to turn?

Maple with a little spalt, 9 3/4" diameter x 5" high x 3/8" lip tapering to 1/4" walls. Sanded to 400 grit with only the first flood coat of Minwax Wipe-On Gloss Poly on it at this time. Will do another flood coat and then 5 or so thin wipe-on coats to add some gloss.

Very cool bowl. I love all the grain directions. Isn't it great when you find wood like that!

Another good looking bowl Steve. I like the slight spalting and the inclusion. Hope you post pics after all the finishing is complete.

Really nice bowls. Look very functional.

Is that a graduated background? If so - care to provide source and product description and item #?

Thanks for all the kind words everyone - I do appreciate it!

Dolan - I use the #39 background from this site: http://www.phototechinc.com/graduate.htm

Terry - Glad you like the photos! I still feel like a beginner both in turning and photography - so it's good to know that at least I am heading in the right direction!

Steve -- It's been said already but good work. You tend to make this all look so bloody easy!

Mike - Yes, finished the deck last Monday!!! Fun project but glad to get back to turning!

Bob - turned the bowl Friday and am still in the process of adding poly coats to it. I had a small maple hollow form on the lathe when you stopped in yesterday. Will finish the HF today but have to decide if I am going to leave it plain or embellish it in some way.

I would show photos but it is not turning related and I would have to move my own post to Off Topic! LOL

Not if it was a bowl or hollow form that just happened to be sitting on the deck in a different location for each picture showing all sides, top and bottom of bowl.
