I am making a fort/playhouse for my kid. I want to use cedar shingles or shake for the siding... It is 6ft cubed = 144 sqft so I need 2 sq. I have a few questions...
Should I use R+R shingles or generic shingles/shake
Can I use untreated shingles (looking for 10 years of life)
What kind of exposure do you recommend? I was shooting for 6-7"
What kind of sheathing should I use. I was going to use 3/4" pressure treated plywood for the inner wall... #30 roofing felt. and considering cutting strips of OSB to provide airspace for the shingles.... is this needed?
If the fasteners are too long, can I screw OSB directly to the PT plywood to increase the thickness without moisture issues?
thanks
