I recently visited the Hearne Hardwood store outside Oxford PA on my recent trip north to visit family. As has been said elsewhere on this forum, it is a place all woodworkers must visit. Incredible selection of many hardwoods.
They are building a new office building. A group of Amish from nearby Lancaster County erected the post and beams. The interior is being finished now. I was taken on an impromptu tour and was impressed with the bubinga stair treads to the second floor. A conference table made by the daughter of the well-known furniture maker George Nakashima was sitting on the second floor. It is made from a huge burl that she purchased from Hearne.
