Has anyone ordered finished drawers online? I am building a bunch of cabinets and I am not going to have the time to build the drawers for them. I am looking for 1/2" maple dovetailed drawers. If anyone has any contact info of companies that do this it would be much appreciated. Thanks -Kevin

Valen Drawers. http://www.valendrawers.com/quickship/default.htm Freight cost can be a big issue. Valen makes their drawers KD, so they ship flat, and that helps control costs. The assembly process is trivial.

I am lucky enough to have a drawer box manufacturer about 15 miles from my house. The owners is the former son-in-law of the owner of Drawer Box Specialist in CA. He moved to Mesa AZ and started Drawer Connection. I've used them a lot. The drawers in dovetailed Baltic Birch with 1/2" BB bottoms are just a little more than the BB ply when bought a couple of sheets at a time.

We use Eagle at work, they come prefinished, they can be drilled for the slides of your choice, and they are generally a very good quality with reasonable lead times.

I use Keystone Wood Specialties out of Penn. They do an awesome job and are always on time. On the two occasions that I had a problem drawer from shipping gorrillas they sent a new drawer out next day N/C.

I just built the drawers on the project I am finishing because I am slow, and now I remember why I started subing them out. Its not the construction I hate but the finish, and Keysones finish is often better than what I can do in my shop.

Actually Karl, shipping cost spireled when fuel was high and never came back down. I have been looking around at companys a little closer, or at least I was till work ran out, just because the shipping cost had become too high.

They do ship on pallets. The last job was two pallets from Penn. to Mi., shipped UPS express and it seeems the bill for shipping was $280. The problem for me is that that $280 adds nothing of value to the job, and I am increasingly having to compete with the crap from the box stores to survive. My market area is trashed, so competition is cutthroat. Many companys are bidding themselves out of business. I am taking the last man standing approach. :)
