OK, I just found out the image I am looking for is probably named "Our Lady of Guadalupe". Does anyone have a high res image by that name? Thanks.

You'll need to put that online somewhere to link to it. You're trying to link to a file on your local hard disk.

Jack the picture with the children on the bottom is 'Our Lady of Fatima', which was the apparition of the Virgin Mary in Portugal. The 'Our Lady of Guadalupe' is a picture of the Virgin Mary which was, as the story goes, imprinted on a cloth by divine intervention in the 1500's which still survies today http://www.ontheroadin.com/miscellasneouspictures/Our%20Lady%20of%20Guadalupe%20Image.jpg.

Thanks for clarifying that Frank. Based on that distinction, I am definitely looking for a laserable quality image of Our Lady of Guadalupe.

I am still looking for you but the one at http://www.arkpilot.com/images/our%20lady%20of%20guadalupe.jpg is the clearest one that I could find. The funny thing about this whole story is that the 'rays' around the picture were added by artists of the day in the 16th century but it has failed to survive with the rest of the image.

The figure of the Mary was imprinted as the tale is told by the Virgin Mary herself and although the material was a cactus based cloth, copies of the original were painted and recreated on similar material, they only survived for 7 years before disintigrating. This image has remained the same.

Also not too long back Hillary Clinton was allowed to see the image close up and asked who the picture was painted by, the Arch Bishop replied, "God". If you are not a believer, then it is a difficult story to follow, but there have been all sorts of tests, including xrays which show that the image was put on without any underpainting or under-drawing which is almost impossible to do.

They also say that the image has consistently defied exact reproduction, whether by brush or camera.............and you think your laser can????

Thanks Frank, I appreciate the effort. The image is for a very large memorial and I did not choose the deign.

I will keep a watch out for lighting and maybe have one of my employees do the engraving. Just in case...
