15" yellowheart platter 7 coats wipe-on poly, micro-meshed to 12000. What should I do from here? would like to use it as a serving platter for snacks. Thanks, James

take it off the lathe and finish the bottom, then use it. nice work. i like the burnt line on the outside

You say you have sanded to 12K so I don't think buffing would do anything for you. A coat of Ren wax would offer some protection. Looks like you are ready to go. Pretty piece BTW.. Bill..

I agree with Bill - use some Renaissance wax (or Conservator's Wax from Lee Valley) as it won't show fingerprints or water spots.
