I have not been posting a lot of pics because I have been turning all green wood and roughing. I have 40 bowls roughed and on the shelf drying.

Here are 2 I finished over the weekend. First is a teak bowl that was a scrap of 8/4 that was going to be thrown out. It's 2" x 9 1/2. The second is Ash and was turned green and dried then returned it measures 2 1/2 x 7".

I will be posting a lot more in the weeks and months to come. On the shelf I have Birch, Ash, Cherry and Walnut.

Mike - very nice work on both bowls but I have to admit that the Teak really caught my eye! I believe this the first Teak bowl I have seen posted here and love the grain and rich color variations. Really nice form also!

Looking forward to seeing some more of your turnings real soon!

Mike,
Nice bowls. I too am drawn to the teak one. It must be the elegant outside curve. Good work.

I do not see your name on the bottom of that nice looking bowl. Best start signing your great work and someone like me may claim it is mine.:D

Mike, those are great looking bowls. The teak is also my favorite. I think it is fun to see what can be turned from material that anyone other than a woodturner would consider to be scrap.
Thanks for posting this.

Great bowls! I also love the color and grain of the Teak one. The Ash is very nice though.

Mike,
Both bowls are really great looking. The view looking into the bottom of the teal almost seems to be an illusion of where the bottom is. I like the classic shape of both of them Well Done!

RL they are signed and dated. In the pic of the teak it is hard to see, looks more like scratches. When I oiled the bowl the signature faded a little.

Thanks for all the feed back. I am really striving to produce the very best work I can. I am still just a grasshopper but have great ambition.

I will have lots more to share in the future. I would love to get into HF but am not tooled up for it right now and don't have the money at this time. There are so many things that I want/need so I most prioritize.

Daydreaming the workday away,
Mike
