Greetings to everyone!

Thought I'd share the new handles I made for the Thompsons.

I'm falling deeper into the vortex!

Harvey - these are some really nice handles! I love curly maple and have to think these will only get better looking with use! Nice work! Looking forward to seeing what you turn using these guys!

Harvey,

That maple and purpleheart one looks very similar to one I made recently (http://www.sawmillcreek.org/showthread.php?t=115269).

Nice work. The ferrules you've got will allow you to re-use the handle later, right?

That is a very expensive home for those three tools.

However, it can be used as a table saw as well. ;)

your handles "turned" out nice

Narayan,

Thanks for your kind words. The ferules are such that they allow for tightening when and if the wood shrinks. Hence, the gap. It screws on to the tenon and the hold is incredibly strong! It's cheap enough....only about seventeen bucks each from Oneway. And when the gouge is no longer long enough, just pop another one in. So for me, it was the way to go.

Harv

You're right about the expense but I just had to have a nice place to leave my turning tools! And if I ever want to cut a piece of wood, my fingers will be safe! That's if I want to cut a piece of wood! Thanks for your kind words!

Thanks, Gary,

I had the purpleheart for a number of years and knew that someday, I'd find some use for it. Still have a bit more for a couple more handles.

Thank you for the compliment!
