I gave the polishing pads a good testing over the last couple of days...
First I found that they work nice on wood and synthetics materials both... if used on wood they must be used dry...
The neatest thing that I tried them on was a mixed media pen I turned from White Corian with Black Ebony Accents... I wet sanded through the complete set of pads and the corian and ebony both took on a fantastic polish... I then finished the complete pen with a coat of hard black carnuba wax and an overcoat of Renaissance wax... almost too slick to hold on to.. LOL...
