Amazon is selling this $15 cheaper than Woodcraft. I need the 36" metal fence but Amazon only has the 42".

Is this metal fence attachment just the metal without a backing and can I get the 42" and cut it clean to 36"?

Thanks,
Phil

I can't tell from the website or the video. I think it is just the steel fence. It looks like you can attach it to your fence directly or put a backer board on it and attach it using the sacaficial fence clamps. If you can cut the metal you should be able to cut anything they have behind it, if it exists.

I had that on my older Jet fence (since replaced with a Delta T2) and it was basically just a piece of thickish (1/8"?) sheet metal with a couple of holes and a bend at the top. Should be easy enough to cut with a hacksaw or jigsaw with the right blade.

I should probably think about resurrecting it and fitting it to the new fence. It was a handy piece when you needed it.

I stopped by at Woodcraft. I think the metal attachment for the fence is suppose to be over sized in length to you fence?

Anyone using the Grip-Tite system?
